Parents as Partners
Parental involvement in their child’s education is one of the prime factors contributing to higher levels of achievement.
We value highly the role that our parents play within the school and want to ensure that any communication between home and school is valued and relevant. With this in mind we have established Parents as Partners.
A group of parents were invited to a meeting in school during term one. The initial intention was for this to be a one off meeting during which we could discuss areas where the school was meeting the needs of the parents as well as identifying areas where further information or communication was thought to be useful.
Both Mrs Lucas and myself were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and support shown for the project as well as the fantastic contributions that were made to help us move forwards together.
So successful was the venture that we have decided it should become a regular thing throughout the year, with different parents invited each time, enabling us to ensure that lines of communication are open and flowing and the voices of all the parties concerned in the education of the children at the school can be heard loud and clear.
On the sub pages below, I have included very brief bullet points that I believe reflect what was discussed at these sessions as well as how we have managed, the school in partnership with the parents, to address these areas.
If you have any precious spare time and would like to be part of one of our future sessions, please let us know.
