Term 4 Information
Term 4 – already !!
We begin this short, action packed term with Pancake Day! We will be making, cooking, tossing (Mr Chapman considers himself the champion … ) and racing! We also have a trip to Uppingham Theatre to see Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs (funded by the Windmill Trust) to look forward to in the first week.
Week 2 will begin our topic, chosen by the children, of ‘Superheroes’ and this will provide a vehicle for some of our learning. Prime areas of learning are still very important as we introduce ‘reflection’ as the learning behaviour this term. Within our Read Write Inc programme children continue to work at their own individual pace and mathematics is present in everything we do (we always use real experiences as opportunities to further our understanding).
With spring just around the corner (hopefully) we are visiting Brooksby Melton College to see the lambing with our friends in Class 1 towards the end of term – more information to follow. We also have World Book Day, Healthy Lifestyles Day, and Red Nose Day to fit in. PE continues Friday morning with bare feet for this term.
Foundation Class Parents Consultation meetings will be in the final week of term when we will discuss individual targets to help the children reach the Early Learning Goals at the end of their Foundation year and think about transition into Year 1.
Yes, another action packed term – we wouldn’t have it any other way!
