Term 3
Welcome to Term 3 everyone! Hope you all had a fantastic break and are ready for learning.
It’s a slightly shorter term and we have a lot to fit in as usual. Our Topic is “Walking with Dinosaurs”, which is really exciting and provides plenty of learning opportunities across the curriculum. We are kicking off with an amazing day courtesy of “Everything Dinosaur” in our first week back. I won’t say anymore at this point! In History, we will get an opportunity to be dinosaur detectives investigating the Mesozoic era. Teeth and Eating along with Living things will be our Science focus.
Class 4 learning for Term 3 also includes:
Literacy – we are continuing with our persuasive writing but with a twist this term. Remember the Big Bad Wolf? Was he really so bad? After that, we are moving onto play scripts in order to prepare for our Production in Term 4.
Maths – our target lesson continues to be multiplication but we will be moving onto subtraction later on in the term. Keep practising your minute tests!
Computing – we are going to be toy designers, how fascinating…
RE - it's a really engaging topic, we will be learning about the Five Pillars of Islam.
PE – we will be doing badminton (Monday) and gymnastics (Wednesday) this term so please remember your kit.
L2l – our focus is on being responsible learners.
This term , as part of our ongoing focus on becoming more independent, we are concentrating on becoming responsible learners, taking ownership for responding to our marking and more importantly, acting on that feedback at the next opportunity. Again, we will be awarding a rosette to the Independent Learner of the week.
As always, we will keep you updated on our progress...
Mrs Young and Mrs Redmond.
