Welcome to

Whissendine CE Primary School

Uniform

At Whissendine, we have a school uniform as we believe that, if the children take pride in their appearance, they will take pride in their work, their behaviour, their friendships and their attitude to learning. We ask parents to encourage their children to dress in the appropriate school colours:

Uniform

Grey or black trousers, skirts, tailored shorts (not football shorts) or pinafores.

White or blue shirt or polo shirt - branded with the school logo or non-branded.

Blue school sweatshirt or cardigan - branded with the school logo or non-branded.

Black, grey or white socks or tights.

Footwear should be black in colour, be flat with no heels and no open-toed footwear should be worn —NO trainers to be worn with school uniform.

For safety reasons, if a child comes to school in boots, they must change into indoor shoes.

During the summer months, from the May holidays (Weather dependent), summer school dresses can be worn.  These are a light blue gingham check.

PE Kit

PE kit should be brought to school in an appropriate bag so it can be kept in children's lockers.

Blue or navy shorts.

A school P.E top can be bought from Kids and More, the new design will be in place to buy for August 2023,

Plimsolls/trainers.

Grey, black or white socks.

A blue or navy sweatshirt or appropriate tracksuit are required during the colder months for outdoor lessons.

No clothing with sports logos should be worn.

Children with shoulder length hair, and longer, will be asked to tie it back for PE lessons.

Jewellery/Hair

The only items of jewellery allowed are ear studs, which must be taped or removed for all PE activities, and/or age-appropriate watches for children in KS2.  School accepts no responsibility for loss or damage of watches.

No bracelets and/or necklaces should be worn to school unless for religious reasons.  Please discuss this with your child's class teacher.

No nail varnish, tattoos or make-up is permitted.

All shoulder length hair should be tied back and hair accessories should be either grey, navy or black.  NO large ribbons, bows or hair adornments should be worn.

Parents are requested to ensure that their entirety of their child’s clothing is clearly marked with his/her name.

We strongly appeal to parents to support our school uniform policy.
