"An outstanding school that's getting better and better."
A hat trick: Outstanding in 2006, 2010, 2013!!! WOW
A very warm welcome to Whissendine C of E Primary School.
Our school is situated in the heart of Whissendine village, in the County of Rutland. We are close to the Leicestershire border and near to both the historic towns of Oakham and Melton Mowbray. We are a popular school.
We are very proud of our school, our staff team and, of course, our children! In 2006, 2010 and 2013 we were graded as Outstanding by Ofsted. We are incredibly proud of our hat trick!
At Whissendine School we recognise that every child is special and unique and we strive to meet the needs of every child at our school. In order to provide an excellent education, we aim for children to enjoy their learning and to develop a wide range of skills in order to progress with enthusiasm and determination. Central to everything we do at school is teaching the children how to be lifelong learners and independent thinkers. Our DNA Learning curriculum aims to enable all of our children to become:
Children DISCOVER, dream, enjoy and love learning.
Everyone is NURTURED, is proud of themselves and proud of their school.
Everyone ACHIEVES, makes progress and individuality is celebrated.
We want our children to become Resilient, Responsible, Resourceful, Reflective and Respectful citizens who are Ready for learning who will make positive contributions to society: locally, nationally and globally. Our children are encouraged to understand that learning is a lifelong process. We also aim for children to develop a wide range of personal skills in order to mature as confident individuals, able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives.
We hope you enjoy reading our prospectus and that it gives you a ‘flavour’ of what we offer here at Whissendine. A full printed version is available from the school office and if you explore our website you will find it covers the key areas in more detail. If you have any difficulty finding any information please do come and visit us; you will be made very welcome.
