Christmas 2024
The Friends of Whissendine Primary School is here to help make our school even more fabulous. When joining the school, all parents automatically become a member of the Friends Association and, we hope, will be able to join us in fundraising for our amazing school.
Our aim is to raise funds each year to provide the school with more opportunities to enhance the school experience for our children as well as supporting the school, where necessary, to purchase essentials items.
We aim to create opportunities for all our parents and carers to get involved - through donating time and volunteering, attending one of our fun events or simply a route to suggesting new ways in which you think we could help make a difference.
Please use -
Parentkind – the charity that supports school PTAs - have teamed up with Asda, who is making millions of pounds available to donate to primary schools across the UK through their ‘Cashpot for Schools’ initiative – all you have to do is, opt in through the Asda Rewards app, choose Whissendine CE primary school and shop and scan in store or shop online at ASDA.com between 2nd September and 30th November 2024.

How we have already helped:
Bought new Dictionaries and Thesaurus’ for the classes.
Assisted with the costs of school trips for all years.
Goal posts, balls and bibs.
Re-filling the children's Playground Paradise Shed with joyful equipment for everyone to share and play with.
The school has an amazing Trim Trail that was supported with funds raised by the Friends.
Laptop Storage - there is no point in having the necessary technology available for the children to use if it is damaged, broken or uncharged. Buying the school a new laptop storage trolley means that all of the equipment is safe and always ready for use.
Hoodies - The children in Y6 leave us with memories of their time at Whissendine and, should they forget, they can snuggle in their hoodie, funded by the Friends, that shows that names of all of their classmates.
Pantomime - The children, for the past few years, have been visited by a touring pantomime company in the weeks leading up to Christmas. It is noisy, silly and great fun.
