Whissendine Windmill and Mr Moon

Today we took the grain we had collected to Mr Moon at Whissendine Windmill.  He let us use a small grinding stone to grind the grain and make flour!  We looked at the windmill from the outside - the sails were not turning because it was too windy!! Mr Moon showed us a little gadget he had to measure the speed of the wind so he knew whether or not to allow the sails to turn.  We then peeped at an engine he had in a shed that would also turn the wheels of the windmill grinding machine.  After all that we returned to school with a bag of flour to make bread with!
