Christmas Past
Today we spent the morning at Rutland Museum with Emma Warren who told us all about Christmas past!
Did you know why we have chocolate yule logs or when the first Christmas card was sent?
We also found out what a child in Victorian times might receive in their stocking from Father Christmas on Christmas morning. As you can imagine, the contents were not very well received by the children ...... an apple, orange, some nuts (which we mistook for a bag of stones) a book (without pictures!!) and perhaps a toy such as the one we made today! Where are the computer games and Lego?
