Welcome to our Foundation Class Page!

Here you will find out everything you need to know about what your child is learning at school. Each term we will share with you what we will be learning across all areas of the Early Years Curriculum as well as share ideas about how you can help enhance your child's learning at home. 

Our Approach

As a school, we recognise that what our children learn in the Early Years ‘s Foundation Stage will stay with them forever and that optimising children’s early education is one of the greatest investment we can make as a school to ensure their future success as lifelong learners and successful citizens. 

Our Early Years Foundation Stage setting follows the curriculum as outlined in the 2021 statutory framework of the EYFS. The curriculum is delivered through a well-planned play-based approach to learning and development. We encourages children to be autonomous learners; they are encouraged to be responsible, independent and active.  We hope that through carefully planned child-centred topics, children will develop the skills and attitude needed for a positive relationship with learning. 

We will share with you all the day to day information you need as well as photos of the children engaged in their learning via our Class Dojo page. If you have any questions about your child's learning,  please do not hesitate to send me a message via Class Dojo. We are here to support you and your child however we can as they make embark on their learning journey here at Whissendine.
