Our first topic in Year 1 is all about ourselves – we are calling it Marvellous Me!  We are thinking about all the different things we are good at and practising them during our SMART choosing in the afternoons.  Making models, painting, using the computers, enjoying the outdoor area – what will you choose?

We will look at how our bodies work and investigate our five senses.  The home corner will be turned into a doctor’s surgery and we will find out about Florence Nightingale.  We will also be looking at the area we live in and heading off for a walk around Whissendine.
The children have made such a great start to Year 1, we can’t wait to find out more about them!
