We were so very lucky to have a invitation from the Melton & District Model Engineering Society to visit them at Whissendine Sports Club to ride on one steam and one electric model locomotives and an amazing scale model Foden lorry! The trains are so small but can carry lots of children (and teachers) around a very scenic track - we especially loved going under the bridge and waving! We were very interested to see the driver put coal into the steam engines fire to heat the water to make steam to move the pistons to make the wheels turn. The lorry is a scale replica and we were able to sit on the back and and be driven around the big sports field. Becky even got to drive it herself! Brilliant morning - thank you very much for giving up your time!
