Where in the World?

It’s all Greek to Team 6 for Terms 5 and 6…

This term our learning is very much driven by a Geographical focus: to begin with, we will investigate geographical patterns (geographic zones) and then we will investigate and communicate all that is physical and human about Greece. As last term was so busy for us, we will start Science by learning about Inheritance - from Term 4 - and then move to Term 5’s: ‘Investigating Living Things’ through the classification of Greek animals and plants. In addition to this, we will learn about a Greek philosopher, and scientist, that first classified living things.

We have kick-started our learning with our sparkling start afternoon. In addition to making their Greek-inspired pittas, the Team tried a variety of Greek delights and the food will not stop there… Look out for more Greek-inspired DT dishes in Term 6 as well as Greek-inspired Art.

The team have a lot to look forward to this term: script writing for the Team 5/6 production, SRE (look out for the letter) and, of course, their end of KS2 SATs. These tests run for one week, commencing Monday 8th May. It will be really important that there are early nights so we’re refreshed each day, nutritious breakfasts eaten so that our brains are well-prepared for the day ahead and lots of chill-out time in-between so that we’re totally relaxed. This is an important time in the academic year for Year 6 pupils but I am completely convinced that they are all ready to shine and ready to show everyone just how brilliant they are.

P.E. will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mr Eshelby will lead Athletics and Mrs Evans will be ensuring that our minds, and bodies, are chilled and relaxed.

You know where I am if you have any questions or concerns and, if I’m not in the classroom, please leave a message with Mr Asplin.

Thank you.

Mrs Schofield.
