Term 1

Term 1

Welcome to Class 3! A new year, a new classroom and a new teacher!  This year in class 3 we are lucky to have Mr Asplin and Miss Mann working with us as well as Mr Barlow on Friday afternoons and Mr Eshleby for sport on Thursday mornings.
We are starting our new year at the start of time by looking at Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age.  We are going to find out about historians and archaeologists know about this period in history, even though nothing was written down! We will be attempting to make some cave paintings of our own so that we can leave our mark for years to come.
In science, we will be learning about plants and what they need to grow, and as part of the WW1 Centenary events we will be planting poppy seeds harvested from Flanders Fields.
In RE we will be thinking about Christianity and in particular how Christians hope to make an impact on some of the World’s problems.
PE will be gymnastics on Tuesday afternoon and football with Mr Eshleby on Thursday morning – don’t forget your PE kits!
We have already settled into class and are loving the independence and responsibility that being in Key Stage 2 brings.  It’s going to be a great year!
Mrs White, Miss Mann and Mr Asplin
