Welcome to our first term together! I hope you all had a fantastic break and that you are as excited as I am about the start of our learning journey together in Class 4.
Our Topic is “Walk like an Egyptian”, which is really exciting and provides plenty of learning opportunities across the curriculum. We are kicking off with an amazing day courtesy of ‘The Specialists’ in our second week back on the 9th September. I won’t say anymore at this point! In History, we will get an opportunity to explore and investigate culture, people, religion and so much more. ‘Living things’ will be our Science focus. In Art, we will be sketching faces in preparation for creating amazing 3D clay models as our final objective.
Class 4 learning for Term 1 also includes:
Literacy – Our unit this term is ‘Stories set in different cultures’. In line with our Topic, the children will be writing stories set in Ancient Egypt.
Computing – WIKIs! Class 4 will be creating their very own WIKI to showcase what they are learning about life in Ancient Egypt.
Maths – our target lesson will focus on multiplication for this term and of course, we will be completing our minute challenges to help the speed up the recall of our times tables.
PE – Please remember your PE kit on a Tuesday and Thursday.
L2l – It’s all about ‘Bucket Filling’! Please ask your child to tell you more.
This year, we are concentrating on becoming independent learners, focussing on readiness for learning in the first term. We will be awarding a rosette to the Independent Learner of the week.
We will keep you updated on our progress...
