Out of this World

We begin our learning this year with the theme Out of this World. Children will travel the galaxy, learning about the wonders of our solar system and space travel. They will develop their ability to think scientifically and ask questions about the world around them. In Phonics, children will learn ‘speed sounds,’ linking sounds to letters as well as learning how to segment and blend sounds for reading and writing. In Mathematics, we will focus on understanding the number system and consolidating our knowledge of numbers. We will also explore shape and measure, focusing on recognising and continuing repeating patterns.
