Term 5

It’s the start of the summer, it’s Term 5! Just a few more weeks and then friends and family will have the opportunity to see our performance ‘What the Dickens is going on?’  The key dates are Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th April.

This term our Topic is ‘We are meteorologists’ and there are so many opportunities across our curriculum to immerse ourselves in this area! In Computing, we will be learning how to present the weather and all of the skills required in order to do that successfully. In Science, we will be learning about States and specifically the Water Cycle.  Literacy will focus on newspaper reports, our village characters will be demonstrating their journalistic skills when reporting on the storm that has hit our village and caused severe damage! Maths of course is a great opportunity to talk about measurement of temperatures and reading weather charts.

Class 4 learning for Term 5 also includes:
Music – we are going to learn how to play the recorder!

Maths – our target lesson will continue to focus on subtraction and move onto division later this term. Don’t forget to keep practising your minute tests!
PE – we will become Athletes for the term every Wednesday and on Fridays we will be going Swimming so please remember your kit.

RE – a mini topic in the second half of term exploring Christian values
L2l – our focus is on being resourceful learners.
This terms our focus for Independent Learner of the week is being resourceful learners and the children are already engaged and up for the challenge!

We are looking forward to an exciting and rewarding term!
