Term 6

Lights, Camera, Action!

Here we are… the final term of the year and what an exciting one it is going to be for the Team!

Rehearsals and workshops, for the next big blockbuster (Scoot), will be in full swing as the Team prepare for their big stage debuts.  We’re so excited and cannot wait to share all our hard work with you in July.

This term is when the Team apply their learning in different contexts.  To begin with, they will be involved in their Enterprise projects, which requires them to work respectfully in teams, use their initiative, solve problems, work to deadlines and to communicate effectively so that they are ready to pitch their business plans to Lord Sugar (aka Mr Chapman), and his associates, later in the term.  In addition to this, the Team will have Literacy and Maths-based projects to become fully immersed in.  Again, these require careful decision-making skills and reflection.

In R.E., the Team will be learning about how to live respectfully within a community that has multi-faiths and then applying this learning so that they can design their own community centre that serves the community.  In Science, we will be learning all about the circulatory system and there will Sex, Relationships and Protective Behaviours Education.  This learning has a huge emphasis on making the correct personal choices, understanding personal control and how to protect oneself within a number of social situations, which is particularly important for the Team as they prepare for transition to new schools and are developing into young adults.

P.E. will focus on dance and games and will continue to be taught on Wednesdays and Thursdays by Mrs Handley and Mr Eshelbey.  Mr Barlow will be teaching Music this term, focusing on composition, performance and taking inspiration from some great musicians.

Hold on tight for another action-packed term!

Mrs Schofield and Mrs Fry.
