Welcome to Year 3/4!

We have a fantastic year ahead, filled with exciting learning opportunities and new challenges.

This page provides key information about homework and learning routines for each term, helping you stay informed and support your child’s progress throughout the year.

Maths Homework

Maths homework is set on a Tuesday and due the following Monday. It will link to our class learning and is designed to give children an extra chance to practise and consolidate their understanding.

Please encourage your child to log on and rock out as much as possible – regular practice makes a real difference!

Spelling Homework

Our spelling programme follows a two-week cycle to help children build confidence and deepen their understanding of spelling rules.

Week 1:

On Monday, children will be introduced to a new spelling rule and receive a list of 15 words to practise at home. On Friday, 9 of these spellings will be tested.
 

Week 2:

On Monday, spelling books will be sent home again. Children will continue working with the same set of words, and their homework will be to write each word in a sentence. On Friday, 12 spellings from the list will be tested.

Please ensure that spelling books are returned to school every Friday so they can be checked.

At the bottom of the spelling sheets, you’ll also find a selection of High Frequency Words. These don’t follow a specific spelling rule but are useful for children to learn and apply in their writing.

P.E.

Children will change into their P.E. kits at school, so please ensure they are brought in on the correct days. P.E. lessons will take place every Monday and Wednesday.
