Welcome to

Whissendine CE Primary School

Year 6

Welcome to Year 6!

I have so much planned for you this year! In addition to lots of new learning, we have the residential at the end of the year and lots of other trips and outings to look forward to!

This page will contain the yearly plan, termly plans and any homework for your reference.

The homework routines will stay the same as they were in year 5.

Homework

Maths Homework - This is set on a Tuesday and is due in the following Monday. It will relate to our learning in class and is designed to give children an extra chance to practise, with the aim that it helps them to remember!

Spellings Homework- Two week programme:

Week 1: On Monday, the new spelling rule will be taught and given to the children to practice; they will be tested on Friday with 10 spellings following that rule, some of which they will have been given, some they will not have seen.

Week 2: On Monday, the same spelling rule will be taught again and tested out of 15 spellings that Friday; the majority of the words may be not ones the children have seen.

There are also 'High Frequency words' on the bottom of the sheet. These are words that do not follow one of our rules but are useful for the children in their written work.

Due to the current situation, I will be using DOJO more to communicate with you.

Many thanks,

Mr Lambert
