Victorian children
This term Year 1 will be history detectives! We will be finding out about our own Queen and then going back in time to find out about Queen Victoria. What was life like for children then? What kinds of toys did they have and what kinds of jobs did they have to do? We will be starting off with a special Victorian Day at Burghley House and hope to end the term by turning our classroom into a Victorian school for the afternoon. I hear the teachers were very strict….!
As part of our topic we will also be investigating the different materials toys are made from, such as plastic, wood and metal, and sorting and comparing modern and old fashioned toys.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
